What happens to your information.
Plain English, not a wall of legal text. If anything here isn't clear, email me and I'll explain it properly.
Who this is
Rothwell Digital is run by Marcus Rothwell, a sole trader based in Manchester, UK. For anything to do with this policy or your information, contact marcus@rothwelldigital.co.uk.
What I collect
If you fill in the form on the contact page, I collect whatever you enter — typically your name, email address, business name and a message. I don't collect anything else through this site: there's no live analytics, no advertising cookies, and no tracking pixel running here at the time of writing.
Why I collect it
Only to do the thing you asked for — research your business, build a free demo site, and get back to you about it. I don't use it for anything else, and I don't add you to a mailing list without asking first.
Where it goes
The contact form is handled by Netlify Forms, which passes submissions through to my business email, hosted on Google Workspace. Both are processors acting on my instruction, not businesses I sell your details to. I don't share, sell or pass your information to anyone else.
How long I keep it
If we don't end up working together, I'll delete your enquiry within 12 months. If you become a client, I keep what's needed for the business relationship and UK tax record-keeping requirements (currently 6 years), then delete it.
Cookies
This site doesn't currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes — for example, if I add Google Analytics — this page will be updated first and a cookie banner will ask for your consent before anything is set, per UK GDPR/PECR.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask to see what I hold on you, ask me to correct or delete it, or ask me to stop using it. Email marcus@rothwelldigital.co.uk and I'll sort it directly — no call centre, no ten-step process. If you're not happy with how I've handled something, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Changes to this policy
If this page changes in any way that matters — new tracking, a new third party, anything that changes what happens to your information — the "last updated" date at the top will change and, where it's a significant change, I'll say so clearly rather than editing it quietly.
